PM Narendra Modi and Bill Gates discuss the importance of AI for public welfare
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and philanthropist Bill Gates engaged in a discussion focused on utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) for the benefit of society.
The leaders expressed their shared commitment to sectors that have the potential to improve the planet and uplift millions worldwide.
“What a wonderful meeting! It’s always a pleasure to discuss sectors that are making our planet better and empowering millions of people around the world,” said Prime Minister Modi in X’s message.
They also discussed DPI, women-led development. Gates, the founder of Microsoft, also emphasized the experiences gained from India and spreading them around the world.
“Always exciting to meet @narendramodi and there was a lot to talk about. We talked about AI for the common good; DPI; women-led development; innovation in agriculture, health and climate adaptation and how we can learn. From India to the world,” Bill Gates wrote for X.
Earlier, the philanthropist also met External Affairs Minister S Jaishanakar. The two leaders also exchanged books during their meeting on Thursday.
In the X issue, Jaishankar shared a picture of him and Gates posing in a picture with their own books.
“Good book exchange with @BillGates. And great conversation,” Jaishankar wrote.
Bill Gates, who is visiting India, arrived in Odisha’s capital Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. (LETTER I)
